Can I boot this up?

Hey all,

So I have a MacBook from 2009 and I was trying to put the key board back on to the device after a repair, unfortunately the keyboard refused to boot the computer up and when I tried to remove it to see what the problem was the connector on the keyboard came loos and disconnected from the board. In attempt to boot up the computer I located the power pads and booted it up though there and I was like “Oh ok good ill just leave the top case off and ill boot it up that way. After reassembling the computer I set a flathead drive to the pads and it made all the common sounds (hard drive spinning, optical drive doing its thing) and I received no input from the display (i’m using an external monitor as my main screen as the original is cracked). I unplugged it and plugged it back in and tried again. this time nothing happened. But the battery is charging and the light on the charger lights up, so now I'm lost as to how to boot the thing up and get feedback from the display.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hopefully you have not shorted the board out, It sounds like you got an incomplete insertion of the keyboard cable into the logic board. To help with that use a piece of electrical tape on the cable and pull it into the slot rather than trying to push it in.

To get a spontaneous reboot of your computer, disconnect the battery and mag-safe. Press and hold the power on button for ten seconds. Reconnect the battery, then the mag-safe and it should boot on its own.

the connector on the logic board is fine but the one on the keyboard and trapped is missing so therefore I cannot connect the keyboard

Is it missing or did you cover it up when you put the logic board back in and now trapped under the logic board?

It's missing. It looks like it was removed forcefully due to a slip-up I had while repairing it.

So you ripped it off. So what the ,,, you need to replace the keyboard with an intact cable to get it to work.
