How to replace Left and Right Speakers in mid-2009 A1342 MacBook?

My mid-2009 2.26 GHz A1342 MacBook Unibody (White) is suffering from dead (right speaker) and/or blown (rear and left) speakers. i have the replacement parts coming in, and am “reasonably” hopeful that i can replace the rear speaker following the iFixit guide. However, i cannot find any reference for the right and left speakers on iFixit, youtube, or anywhere else (there is a 2008 MacBook speaker replacement on youtube, but iʻm pretty sure it is irrelevant). Does anyone on Team iFixit have any feedback to help? if i can figure this out, iʻll document and post on iFixit, if there is a way to do so.

Hi! @mayer !!! i found the right and left speakers in the computer!! They are on the underside of the keyboard assembly, secured with adhesive. Right Speaker is under the optical drive, and Left Speaker under the logic board.

i purchased the replacements on eBay.

Right Speaker:

1) Remove Optical Drive

2) Disconnect Right Speaker connector to logic board per Logic Board replacement Step 12

3) Gently de-route speaker connector wire

4) Gently (i slipped the tip of the micro tweezer in the iFixit kit under the edge of the speaker) lift the speaker away from the rear of the keyboard - it is held with adhesive

5) Secure replacement speaker, and reverse steps to complete installation

Left Speaker:

1) Remove Logic Board up through Step 20

2) (Left Speaker connector to logic board is located at Logic Board replacement Step 16, and will already be done in removing the logic board)

3) Gently de-route speaker connector wire

4) Gently (i slipped the tip of the micro tweezer in the iFixit kit under the edge of the speaker) lift the speaker away from the rear of the keyboard - it is held with adhesive

5) Secure replacement speaker, and reverse steps to complete installation

Yes this is what I have too, the connector on my left speaker broke. very delicate, now I have trouble seeing where is connects back up on the logic board. Does anyone have pictures or video. these are small metal speakers not the black ones everyone shows online.

Well there probably isn’t a guide as right and left speakers don’t exist on this model. Here’s the guide for replacing the speaker, I have no idea of what you have ordered.

i found the right and left speakers, replaced them, am trying to post the answer, but it is getting deleted as "inappropriate" with -100 its every time i try to post it.

any idea how to navigate the system?
