My ps4 won't read my ghost recon wildlands disc but other discs work

I recently brought a pre owned copy of ghost recon wildlands. When I loaded the game for the first time after updating the game it said that the disc wouldn't read and that it needed to be cleaned or replaced. I then asked my friend who also has a ps4 to check my disc and it ran perfectly fine on his ps4. I returned the disc and got a new one only to have the same problem on my console while working on my friends. It only happens for this game and every other disc game I have works fine.

If you can help pls let me know. Cheers

Had this happen a couple of times for clients. Always ended up being the laser needing to be replaced due to wear.

Some PS4 models you can replace the whole Blu-ray drive otherwise replace the laser caddy if a blu-ray drive board is present.

This is my only disc game that doesn't work, all others function as normal. Wouldn't a faulty laser result in all disc games not working?

Hi!

No, can still be the laser. Does the disc have scratches on it? Your laser is probably already "dying" so it's working less good then it did before. Are all the other games installed before? Some games (when you put the disc in) downloads it's data from the network anyway, other games do install all the data from the disc to the hard drive.

It's always the laser in this case. A client of mine had the exact same problem swapped for a brand new disc and still same problem. A laser replacement fixed the problem.

Chances are the disc is a large game that the laser cannot read.

Well if its a used game have you inspected the disc for any marks or dirt. Could just need a cleaning. If the system reads all your other discs its most likly the disc not the

I doubt it is the disc as the same disc ran perfectly fine on my friends ps4

mines been doing this and i tan ghost recon breakpoint and uncharted just fine they all downloaded just fine and run fine so i will just download it digitally
