USB data connection is no longer working. Pixel 2 XL

So, I’ve been troubleshooting this issue and trying to work with google for about a month now about an issue where with the June security update I lost all data connection through USB. my phone still charges correctly and fast charge works as well. My PC does detect a device being connected to it, however it’s showing as an unknown device and I can’t manually load a driver. The headphone adapter does not detect correctly when plugged into my phone now, it is seen as a charging device and not MIDI. I have factory reset my phone twice now. Once with the June security update and another time yesterday after I got the July security update.

While trying to troubleshoot with Google, they advised that I try to replace the USB assembly board on the phone. I did that however even with the new port it is still behaving the same.

one of the biggest oddities I’m seeing with this is that android auto works sometimes. and seems to be the only thing kind of working as far as data connection through USB on my device.

I’m on the fence right now with replacing the motherboard as I think it might be failed controller or possibly a bad flash or something from the update?

Has anyone else had issues like this with the Pixel 2 XL? and what did you do to resolve the issues?
