How do I fix the battery latch door will not stay close or to lock

Hey Richard Francis is that a slide lock latch? One way would be to checkout ebay for the model you have but broken and see if you can use the parts off it to fix yours. Cost is relatively low and trying to find parts on those are hard and most likely no one has them.

If anyone has this issue, your battery door/ latch cover is broken and needs to be replaced.

You do have to unscrew the camera housing and sort of take it apart in order to reach the latch. 5 screws outside the camera carefully remove the cover and once inside, remove the 2 black screws holding the metal tray. Tilt LCD out of the way and lift the tray a bit so that you can unhook the latch. Remember to take pictures when taking it apart just in case.
