What is the part under the warning label called?

I peeled off the label as I was following the logic board replacement guide: MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Late 2013 Logic Board Replacement

I found this hard clear substance underneath. Is this normal or would I have to replace this part as well? What is this part called exactly? I don’t have the new logic board replacement yet so I’m not sure if this part would be included.

This is my first time opening the case myself. The only other time my macbook pro was opened was when I brought it in last summer to an apple service provider to find out why my macbook pro wouldn’t turn on. They told me I had to replace to logic board. I thought I’d do some research and do it myself. Maybe it just needed some cleaning. Thought I’d open it up today and check it out.

The transparent solid substance on that little board which is actually the gas gauge / battery board for the battery is like underfill to protect the components on that board from liquids that could cause corrosion or short circuits.

That won’t need to be replaced as it’s separate from the logic board and the logic board should be able to turn on without the battery connected if the board was fine but the battery wasn’t.

Does the MacBook give a orange / green light on the magsafe charger when plugged in to charger?

These no-power repairs usually require micro-soldering to fix. You’ll need to take out the logic board for an inspection and take a look at both sides visually for any signs of liquid damage corrosion and/or burn marks.

Here is a guide on how to get to the logic board for removal:

When I connect the charger, the light is green then orange. I was curious about the clear substance as I could not see it on the pictures in the guide. My macbook started to turn off unexpectedly while in use. I was able to turn it on a few times and each time it turned itself off again a few minutes after. Then it stopped turning on altogether. I suspected the battery or logic board needed replacement. After brining it to the tech he said logic board needed replacement so I'm going off that. Would need to further inspect logic board and I'll update you on my findings.
