Hello hi,
How do I connect an on/off switch to my 2009 MacBook A1181?
I did try connecting the a red wire to the first power on pad then a black wire on the 2nd power pad but I clicked it on the on position and it doesn’t turn on I would like to know what I'm doing wrong thanks!

It sounds like you have a very messed up keyboard so you really have no choice here other than replace the upper case (keyboard). Here’s the guide you’ll need to follow MacBook Core 2 Duo Upper Case Replacement and here’s the needed part MacBook Top Case, Keyboard, US (SR/08/09) White (recycled), Apple P/N 922-9550

Can you fill us in a bit more here. Is the system working properly now via the keyboard or is that the issue?

Yes the 2009 a1181 macbook motherboard works good I just wanna add an off and on switch instead of buying a keyboard thanks but idk how to wire it up
