Why is the sound garbled when first turned on
sound is going thru speakers and when first turned on then as TV warms up sound clears however taking longer to clear each day. What do I need to do?

dorann.cafaro appears to be an issue with your audio IC located on your main board. Post some good pictures of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see.

You also want to try all different input sources and see if that changes anything as well as trying to connect a sound board or external speaker. Let us now what you find out. Please verify that your TV is a Samsung LA40R81BD 40in LCD TV

sorry but I don't know where or what the main board is? I did mention that we are connected to sound system outside TV
@dorann.cafaro what happens when you disconnect the sound system and just listen to the TV speaker?
