Whatsapp messages download protocol modifications

I am unable to modify the download protocol since when I prompt the download icon it automatically says download completed open,I need to save in a different folder.I raised the question with whatsapp and they suggested it is the settings of the computer,I am also enclosing the mail received from whatsapp.I tried deleting and reinstalling the Whatsapp it did not work.Please guide me.Thank you.Narayanan Lakshmanan.India

Thanks for your message.

To download a media file, click the file in an individual or group chat > Downloadicon. To download a document, click the Download icon on the document in an individual or group chat.

To download multiple files at once, click the Menu icon in the top corner > Select messages. After selecting the media files or documents you'd like to download, click the Download icon.

Note: The folder where your files are saved is determined by your computer settings.
