I got an adapter for the projector to hook to the computer, I tried both a USB and a HDMI adapter but still can’t get the computer screen to show on the projector screen.
Wondering if the projector is just too old.

This projector looks like it has only a VGA input which will require that you have an adapter that converts the signal from HDMI to VGA. I have used this technique many times for other projectors without fail. You must split the audio from the HDMI if you need to send that elsewhere as well.

I have an adapter that goes from the VGA projector to the HDMI computer (that didn't work). Is there another adapter that converts the signal from HDMI to VGA?

You need an adapter that specifically converts from HDMI to VGA. I have a couple of these and they work just fine.
