Backlight driver replacement without affecting the resistors

PLEASE HELP!!!

A beer spilled on this mac which was immediately wiped off but after some time the mac started getting pretty slow, it runs at top speed, it got to a point that mac OS isn't recognized on the machine, only windows OS boots up. but same SSD works fine on another machine .

After sometime the keyboard light and the screen backlight went off.

I tried to reball the backlight driver chip, which was successful only for the screen backlight for just 24hrs.

Now I attempted to replace the chip but I wasn't successful, a resistor got kicked off in the process, when I searched for it I got to know it was R7753, a 0 ohm resistor.

Can I use a jumper wire to replace this resistor?

And how can I use heat gun in such a way that the resistors won't be affected?

And what type of nozzle can I use for this kind of delicate job?

Is my Koocu SMD rework station 852D+ suitable for this kind of job?

The issues again :

Fan runs at top speed

Mac OS isn't recognized

No backlight for both the keyboard and LCD

R7753 resistor got kicked off

PLEASE HELP!

@zilicon okay I am going to make a whole bunch of assumptions on here. You have done “reball” before, you checked to make sure that the LED driver IC is still working and did not replace it (you should have) and of course you cleaned everything else properly so as to avoid further corrosion damage and short circuit’s.

The original package for the R7753 is a 0201 size so you know it is small. Yes you can apply a jumper wire instead. Do not use the hot air part of your rework station but actually use the soldering tip for this job. It’ll give you more control of your part and the solder. It does confuse me that you reballed your IC but are not sure about soldering the resistor. If you have not done this kind of work before, it maybe better to send the board out for repair.

Thank you @oldturkey03 for your quick response, yes I know how to use the soldering tip for soldering.

Good news is I've found the resistor.

I actually I read in a forum that I can reball the chip. But I'm ready to replace the chip with a new one.

I don't know why the chip did not remain settled on the board, the air from the heat gun displaces the chip from the right spot.

I'll also appreciate your comment on other issues.

@zilicon sounds like the hot air is moving the IC around because it needs more top heat and less if any from the sides.
