I have a macbook 2017 with 256GB SSDisk. I want to increase the storage, How do I do that? Do I buy a SSD and just replace it ? Will the system accept it?
Is there any way? Has anyone tried?

Sadly the storage (flash) is soldered to the logic board and not replaceable on its own. You’ll need to swap out the full logic board to get more storage but even that has its limits! 512 GB is as large as you can go 12” MacBook Retina Logic Board - 1.3GHz i5 16GB/512GB at a cost of $970 USD alone!
You would do better getting an external TB/USB-C SSD drive or look at getting a used system.
