doesn’t power on :c

hi!

I used my laptop a few days ago, pretty sure I shut it down but not 100% sure about that… picked it up last night, plugged it into the charger and charger shows green light.

It doesn’t power on at all now. When I press the battery indicator, it has one green light that flashes probably ten times.

Any advice?

hi thank you so much for your response! i have another macbook, it’s 2012~ that doesn’t work for a different reason, is it possible to just switch those out? or do i need to buy a new battery?

@idaslapt3r - As long as it's a another unibody which uses the same battery you could do that. Do keep in mind its battery might be in poor shape too! Depending on your usage, its rare to get more than four years out of a battery.

thank you so much! i was just looking at that option as a way to find out if the battery is the problem. is there a way to test that, before i spend the money on a new battery for it? i’m sorry if this is a question that has been asked before. i looked around a little and couldn’t find my exact problem.

@idaslapt3r - From what you are not saying, the 2012 system is a retina model so the battery won't work.

As far as testing you've done that! The battery checker LED is blinking and only one is lit. Just like your cars fuel gage when it hits empty its telling you you need fuel or the fuel tank has a big hole in it ;-} You've tried charging that didn't work so the only other possibility here is the battery is worn-out.

I think you're also trying to ask if replacing the battery the only issue, its possible you have other issues but you need to fix the more likely issue first.
