Broke a small piece of the motherboard, what is it?

When dissembling the logic board for a RAM upgrade I accidentally broke a small piece of the logic board. iMac still works and seems not to fire up no issues in the diagnostics test. What is it that I broke? Anyone knows? It the small green circle in the image:

You'll need to post a few pics of the piece that broke off and where it came from so we can figure out what you damaged if anything Adding images to an existing question

What you snagged was an Inductor which is part of the Ethernet sockets logic. Here’s a tighter view of the parts, as you can see there is four sets of these Inductors with their larger mating Transformer just above. So your system will work but Ethernet connections won’t work

Many many thanks for your quick answer and hopeful insight! Interestingly, Ethernet is working but only on at a 10/100 theme and not 10/100/1000 as expected. All things fine overall.

You're lucky! The other one would have killed that.
