Any risk swapping around components between MacBooks?
Hi everyone,
So I managed to get my hands on 3 Early 2015 13” MacBook Pro retina systems.
Each of the systems have issues. One of them is fully working but has a badly cracked screen (which I will use to diagnose the problems on the other MacBooks). Another one is powering on (with sounds) but the display won’t turn on. The last one is charging but is not turning on.
I’m going to try to make at least one fully working MacBook out of the 3. However, I’m not sure about my approach or the things I should be careful with.
Assuming I have the battery disconnected on every machine and draining the power, can I just swap around parts freely without risking shorting components? I’m worried that if I swap a dead logic board into the machine with the working screen for example, I will short/ruin the screen when I try to power it on after reassambling.
Thanks for the help!
