Maytag Commercial Washer stuck on sensing



MODEL: mvwc200xw2

I put in a load and after an hour and a half came to switch it to the dryer. The washer had stopped but the washer was still full of water, and the only light on was “lid locked”, the “done” button wasn’t even lit. So I hit cancel and started “drain and spin load” but after the “sensing” light came on, it didn’t do anything else, and then shut off altogether with no lights on. Now when I try to push the start button, I hear something click (not the lock switch), it will stay at sensing for awhile and then just all lights go out. What’s the issue, how do I fix this??

Here’s the W10280489 - Tech Sheet for the washer.

It shows how to get into the diagnostic test mode and what the error codes (if any) mean and their likely cause if it fails when performing the tests.

it may be the quickest way to find out what the problem is

Any chance this thread is still active? Ours did the same thing. And it is not responding to entering diagnostics. After holding the start button to cancel all the lights the water fails to respond to any further button pushes (no lights com on.) Unless we unplugg it for a period of time and the press start. This starts the sensing light blinking again for a while until it goes solid with nothing else happening.

Wonder if there is a problem with a LED light not working so you're not getting the correct info.

If you have the same model as above, use the tech sheet link above and try to get into the "UI Test mode" - see p.4, to prove that all the LEDs on the control panel work, at least the important ones as far as diagnostics go.

If you can't get into that either then it may be a control board problem. maybe check the voltages as per TEST #1: Main Control on p.12

Jayeff, from what I see on page 4 to enter thenui test you first have to be able to get it into diagnostic mode. And that is not possible with how it's acting now. I'll have to try the voltage testes later when I'm home.
