Microsoft Surface Pro 4 not charging after screen replacement

I’ve been replacing screen on my Microsoft Surface Pro 4, but after connecting the screen to the tablet, it won’t charge. Tablet turns on only when plugged in and screen is responding to touch and working as normal.

Battery shows 0% - not charging

Thankfully I haven’t use any adhesive to keep the screen in place.

I’ve uninstalled “Microsoft Surface ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" (mind that, while uninstalling tablet turns off and I have to turn it back on)

I have also generated battery report on my tablet: powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\battery_report.html and it shows that battery is there, but of course not charging

Thank you for answers

I know the surface devices can be a bit finicky when it comes to repairs. In certain models, you can’t disconnect the battery because when you re-connect it, a fuse or some board component gets blown resulting in either not charging or not powering on. You might want to consult with a board repair specialist on this one. Try STS Telecom, iPad Rehab, or Rossmann Repair.

Hello Jesse,

Yes I understand, but the thing is that I have never disconnected the battery so I was hoping it would be something software wise, then I’ve also reinstalled the windows but still the same.

Thank you for your answer.
