Why does my LCD display show a purple distorted image? Also, if I take a photo, it appears just like the LCD image, purple and distorted. The review mode works fine, I can view previous photos OK. The problem was sudden, not a gradual error.

If the preview on the LCD shows normal colors but if the color is tinted while taking a picture, my guess is that it is the CCD of your camera.

If I got it right this problem is because of the ccd, my images are also purple and distorted i bought my Lumix this year to a friend. The camera was just fine for at least 6 month but the imags started turning purple gradually recently…
I have a store in my city were I could maybe get it repaired!

I know this is a very old post, but for sentimental reasons i would like to repair my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 CCD unit. I have the same problem image is tinted purple pink previous and before taking the picture. Anywhere in the US or Asia i could possible get that replacement?
