No signs of life from this MacBook?

I have a Late 2006 White MacBook.

It worked well, although there was an occasional issue where after turning the computer off, I could not get it to turn back on. However, I was able to work around this by disconnecting the battery and MagSafe charger for a day or two, and it would turn back on after reconnecting the power.

A few months ago, however, this problem occurred again, but I have not been able to get it to power back on at all. I have taken it apart and cleaned off what seemed to be a little bit of mild corrosion with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol, reset the SMC via Apple’s website instructions and removed the PRAM battery.

The MacBook still has no signs of life. The MagSafe charger shows a green light when plugged in, so the battery is fully charged.

Could there be a faulty fuse somewhere that needs to be replaced? Is this simply a logic board failure that can’t be fixed?

You stated you took the PRAM battery out, did you replace it?

Also what does the onboard battery checker on the battery tell you when you press the checker button? Are all the LED's lit.

@danj I have not replaced the PRAM battery. As for the battery checker, all LED's are lit.

My replacement PRAM battery did not fix the problem.

I ordered a replacement battery from a reputable seller on eBay. It was described as used and tested working. Of course, since it is used, it could be dead, but I'm not sure. I didn't see any new PRAM batteries on there, and I don't know how difficult it would be to manually replace the battery, since it is wrapped and has wires attached to it.

Any other suggestions? Should I try to manually replace the battery?

@charliewarlie - Can you measure the batteries voltage (both)?

из

@danj I know I can't directly test the points on the PRAM battery since the connector is so small.

Are there any points on the MacBook logic board itself that I can test for voltage while the PRAM battery is installed?

@charliewarlie - Do you have some Sewing Pins? Solder some wire at the head ends, clip the meters leads to the wires. Now carefully probe the connector end.
