92 civic idles high and drops then does it again between 1000 and 2000 rpm

This is a very common thing with honda's. What it usually means is that your low on coolant so first thing to check is your coolant level and if that is fine i would check your coolant sensor that gives the signal to your ecu and make sure the resistance is within specs. That is the most common issue and fixes for that issue, if problem continues check the resistance from your tps and map sensor.

I have the same issue, it turns out mines is the idle control valve.
