Flash support? print capability?

I noticed in the "keynote" that Jobs came across the same problem I have with my Touch .. using the browser (Safari) Flash content is not supported. The page, as in MySpace music player, shows the icon saying "additional plug-in required". Is Apple so proprietary that it won't allow Flash content?

Also, how do I print from an iPad? WiFi? BlueTooth? USB?

while everybody is interested in the new iPad, this is not really a repair related question and is probably better discussed in some other forum. Howeer the short answer is that none of the devices running iPhone OS support Adobe Flash.

bac - I think we're going to have a lot of questions on the iPads (people get excited about the latest.) This is possibly a good question to put in the Beta to see how everyone wants to handle it

It's important to keep the site focused on repair, and I regularly delete non-repair related questions. But it's also important to have fun every once in a while. Talking about the iPad ahead of time is quite entertaining. The trick is to not have too much fun.

I guess my point was that debating whether Apple should support Flash is probably done better in one of countless other forums (ones that I enjoy too!) rather than here where we're focusing on extending the life of products. The iPad isn't even on the market yet. Someone else posted a question asking when ifixit will do a teardown of the iPad - now there's a suitable question IMO. anyhow I don't want to spoil anyone's fun, but I can easily imagine this place getting cluttered up with questions about iPad when we don't even really know much about it yet. I guess the printing part of the question is possibly more suitable here, but again, we don't know much about the iPad so any answer is more likely speculation than any guaranteed solution - my feeling is ifixit.com should be about Answers not Speculation?

Hey: On the Apple Keynote address for the iPad it says it will run the majority of the iPhone apps. If that is the case the App that I use on My iPhone 3GS is the "Print n Share". It is linked to a computer that has network and access to a printer. It works good and it is updated every so often. But like someone else said earlier we will have to wait and see what it really can work with.

A lot of the newer printers now are wireless. I just did a search at Best Buy and found 46 wireless printers. The iPad also has a USB port. You could also turn on Print Sharing on your desktop.

ok, I'll join in on the speculation :) although there are some 3rd party iPhone applications that support limited printing (e.g. from Canon, HP and Epson for their own printers, and only from the Photo album), there's no built-in support from the iPhone OS for printing as of this moment. Also with iPhone OS there's no guaranteed solution to simply plug in a printer via USB and the dock connector - it must have software support on the iPhone/iPad side = i.e. it's not just plug and play like a PC/Mac, you would need at least application support, and/or OS support. The latest iPhone SDK now supposedly has support for the iPad, but I've not yet looked at it (I have developer access to the SDK). I too wonder if they would support printing from iPad especially since they have iWork, but my guess would be they might not. Instead I see they've added folder sharing capability - you can access files from the iPad via a shared folder on your Mac desktop - I guess you would then just print your doc on you Mac. Note there's no current way to use Print Sharing from an iPhone/iPod touch and presumably same with iPad...

I use Print & Share with my iPhone 3GS, it works great.
