Can't get past red standby light to turn

Brand new TV out of the box can't get past red standby light to turn on the TV . Model no. LED40C45RQ. My bad I bought the TV and didn't check it upon delivery what a shame it has never turned on after all the reset suggestions I've tried online. It really sucks that it's never worked and is brand new. Help? RCA LED TV brand new out of the box tv plug it in and no picture. My understanding is there might be a parental lock? I’ve tried to hold down the power button while unplugging the TV wait then re-plug the TV back in while holding down the volume (-) button and menu button. Also tried holding down the power button for 60 seconds on the re-plug in nothing I have read and tried has got the TV to turn on. Anyone else out there figure this out it really sucks that I bought this new TV and I can’t use it bummed out. Feel even more stupid I didn’t check it when it arrived. Help

Hi,

Have you checked that the remote is working OK? Use a digital camera or the camera in a mobile phone and point the end of the remote that is normally pointed towards the TV at the camera lens. When viewing the remote in the LCD screen of the camera or phone, press a button (any button but try the Power button) on the remote and check if you can “see” a light flashing at the end of the remote.

If you can’t, then try this on another known working IR (infra red) remote control unit to make sure that you’re doing it correctly.

If the TV remote is faulty check that the batteries have been correctly inserted (or replace them if doubtful whether they’re still good) and try again.

Just verifying that you tried turning it on using the TV controls as well as the remote control? (see image below for TV power on/off button location)

If the remote tests OK and it is no good using the TV control buttons, as the TV is new out of the box, contact the manufacturer’s customer care section about a manufacturer’s warranty repair or replacement (see image). Do not open the TV to try and find the problem as this will void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Have you tried unplugging it from the wall and leaving it with no power for 10-15 minutes?
