The screen is totally black

I have the same problem. Fingerprint scanner still works (vibrates when I put finger on reader) and it vibrates when I tap on the screen, but the screen is totally black. I have already replaced the entire screen myself, and now that it is back together with the new screen, it is exactly the same as it was before, even with the new screen. Any help? Any suggestions on how to get my data off of the phone with a black screen?
