Portion of screen reversed and lo res….

I was resetting this MacBook Air back to factory settings and while I was booting into recovery mode to erase the hard drive, about one fifth of the right hand side of the display suddenly turned white. It stayed that way through erasing the hard drive and reinstalling OS X and now it’s…just like that now. I’ve reset PRAM and SMC and nothing.

anybody familiar with this?

Ouch! Not good, your displays controller (T-CON) has a problem.

Sadly you’ll need to replace the full assembly MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2013-2017) Display Assembly and here’s the guide MacBook Air 13" Early 2015 Display Assembly Replacement

Thanks. I got a full display assembly and replaced. It works now! Really wish it had been something cheaper, but I'm glad I had an answer. Thanks again.
