Why won't the WiFi won't turn on? [Resolved]

The wifi wouldn't turn on, the slider was stuck on off and grayed out. After removing the battery and powering it on again, the wifi slider is no longer grayed out, but turning it on causes it to get stuck on the on side and after some time, it will turn off again.

Despite this not working just a few minutes ago, turning airplane mode on and off caused the wifi to start working again. I still don't know what caused the issue.
