The processor is soldered on the motherboard/logic board of an A1181 early 2008 MacBook. It is not possible to upgrade the CPU.

Hi ABCellars, is it also soldered on the Macbook unibody 2008 ?
And what about the iMac 2007 20" here
There is a video by Dosdude which shows you what steps to take in order to de-soder the chip and re-soder a new one on the board
