I have only had this laptop for about 2 years now, but every time I use it for a few minutes, I can hear the fan working overtime. It is soo loud and my laptop gets so hot so quickly. I’m not sure what the problem is, but I feel like it shouldn’t be overheating after 5 minutes of use.

Have you had the laptop from new?
Only asking as the model was first released in 2016 and if it is that old then perhaps the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU may have dried out and needs to be refreshed.
If it is is only 2 years old then check that the ventilation holes (see page 14 of the user manual) are clean and clear of dust etc and also that you can feel the air coming from both of them
If the laptop is nearly 5 years old then here’s the hardware maintenance manual that may help.
Go to p.42 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the fans and heat sink assembly. This will allow you to clean the fans and check and change the thermal paste if necessary, on the CPU and GPU. There are videos on YouTube that show how to replace the thermal paste on CPUs etc.
