The April 2014 update of Apple's 13" MacBook Air features refreshed dual-core i5 and i7 processors, plus slightly increased battery performance.

Will sdd compatible with A1466 work for A1496 (MacBook Air 13")

I had 2 questions
i) Will sdd compatible with A1466 work for A1496 (Macbook Air 13") as well ?
ii) Also, the macbook was bought in Aug 2014 and had come with 128 GB SSD and 4GB RAM back then. I wish to replace its non working ssd with a 256 GB SSD . Will that work ?

@roshanpathak500 - Can you give us some clarity of what you mean for A1496 as Apple never offered a MacBook Air with that designation.

Look through this listing to find your other system All 13" MacBook Air's

There where:

  • A1369 MacBook Air 13’’ Late 2010 and Mid 2011 - they use the same SSD format although the 2010 & 2011 are SATA based Vs PCIe/NVMe
  • A1466 MacBook Air 13’’ Mid 2012 - they used special SSDs that are compatible only with 2012 models
  • A1466 MacBook Air 13’’ Mid 2013, Early 2014, Early 2015 and 2017 use the same PCIe/NVMe based SSDs, with the 2015 and 2017 being faster, but they are interchangeable (4 lane Vs 2 lane)

Well, apparently there is a 1496 because I own one. Can’t find any information on an SSD for it.

@lumpymeyer - That’s the Battery model not the systems model. If you go to About This Mac there you’ll find your systems model info. Once you have it we can guide you to what you need.
