TV turns off after a few seconds.
I have a Sylvania CRT TV (model SRC20134AC) that turns off after a few seconds of it turning on. It comes on bright with color then shuts off. I want to fix this TV but I don’t know what to do. I took it apart and none of the capacitors appear to be bulging. Does anyone know how to fix this?

@carsman do you have experience fixing CRT's? Those things pack a punch and can be deadly from the HV circuitry.
Anyhow, there are no manuals and no schematics for this TV. I believe the Sylvania is a rebranded Funai so you may have to try to find information about it through that.

@oldturkey03 no I do not have experience with CRT's but before i start poking around inside of it I wait 15min after unplugged I think that's enough time for capacitors to drain. But do you know why it is shutting off?

It's not capacitors that you have to worry about it is the CRT tube.
They pack a punch far stronger than any capacitor as they're essentially a huge capacitor i.e. 1000s of volts. and can store this voltage for months. Check online how to safety discharge a CRT tube before venturing further.

@carsman248 my prime suspect for something like this is always to power board. Start there.
Don’t rely on the 15min. Discharge the capacitors the proper way. Trust me, they pack a punch and zap you something fierce. Be very careful and stay safe!
