Why is coolant boiling out of the reservoir?

Coolant is boiling out of the coolant reservoir after the car warms up. However there is no white smoke out of the exhaust so I don’t think its a head gasket. There is a very small leak on the bottom radiator hose but its only like a drip every 2 minutes or so. I just installed this new radiator because the old one was cracked and I was hoping i would have no more problems. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Did you bleed the air out after replacing the radiator?

@imicrosoldering No, how do I do that?

What model and year are you working with? Many have a bleeder screw you remove to bleed it. Do you know if your thermostat is opening? You can check this by seeing if lower radiator hose gets hot or stays cold when it blows over.

If it hasn’t got bleed screws remove the coolant reservoir cap and run the engine at a little above idle and turn the heater and fan on full. Keep an eye on the coolant level. After a while it will start bubbling when it settles down and starts circulating top it up and replace the cap.

If it has a bleed screw you would loosen that and leave the reservoir cap on. There should be YouTube videos on your make and model.
