I would use the Google Pixel 2 Motherboard Replacement guide to gain access to the SIM card reader where hopefully you may be able to gently push the broken tray and SIM card back out from the reader, without causing too much damage to the reader pins. Perhaps by using a Spudger you might be able to do this
Getting the reader’s metal case cover off may be difficult if you want to try and remove it to lift the broken pieces out.
If you decide to try this, don’t skip the part about disconnecting the battery from the board. You don’t have to remove the battery, just disconnect it. There is always power on the board even though the phone may be switched off and you don’t want to cause any more problems than what you already have. The power button is not a power isolating button.
