Question, is the Macbook a1181 an updated version of the a1180? I have a a1180 with a broken screen and a a1181 with a bad keyboard these guys aren't interchangeable are they?

Well actually I'm not sure about the interchangeability. But it's easy to verify. Replace the entire upper case following this guide.

Note that it will also replace your trackpad. If everything connect well and if the screw goes at the same place, the rest should be working
Or try to replace the entire display assembly.

But the display includes the airport antenna and the inverter, so you'll have to check if they work

So are the upper cases interchangeable? Can I used the earlier one on a later unit?

They look the same from the outside. Some of the functions on the top row of keys are in different locations.
I think I'll try it. How hard could it be?
