Left Joycon having connection issues + preventing console bootup.

I’ve got a weird puzzle.

I’ve tested everything with multiple joycon sets, the issue is with my switch’s left rail.

It will not detect any joy cons physically attached to it. I have to connect any left joy cons wirelessly beforehand.

If physically attached the left rail is giving power and charging the joycon, but not detecting it and passing it over to the software.

The strangest thing however is that the switch, if fully powered down, is unable to turn back on until the left joy con is removed. It will not boot up and when it fails to boot up its not in RCM mode, its just not turning on.

I’ve attempted cleaning the rails and contacts out, but I’m worried I’m going to need to open my switch up to fix this and replace the rail, or even worse some logic board that controls the rail.

Any thoughts?
