I have a camera failure on an S21 ultra after screen replacement?
After replacing display on S21 powered device on and went through functionality checks and front camera will not access.

I'm sure you've resolved your issue by now but I'll add an answer as I just had this issue and spent hours searching the web trying to figure it out. It's a grounding issue with the main board. Underneath the board on the lower left side, under where the battery plugs in, there's several contact points that when you switch frames the board grounds out on. To be on the safe side I covered all of the contact points with Kapton tape and reassembled the phone. Powered it on, opened the camera and no message, closed and reopened several times to confirm it worked without issue.

changed my screen and still,i used the kapton tape on the contacts and still back camera failed but front is working.
HI, could you tell me what contact points you mean? I only see the contact points that work in conjunction with the power and volume buttons on the side of the phone. If I cover it, the buttons won't work, right? I'm having a similar issue where the camera apps keeps failing after a screen w/ frame replacement.
Same issue for me where rear camera doesn't work and front camera is fine. I took care with disassembly to ensure nothing was damaged, so not sure what went wrong. Only caveat is I haven't put in a SIM card yet as I lost my SIM card tray.

the connector tabs if I remember correctly are just pressure from frame. you will need to check that it is seated correctly.

I think
I damaged my front camera getting it out of old frame.When I first turned it on rear camera worked front didn’t and after trying it I get camera failed message when opening camera.I ordered new front camera thinking of disconnecting front to see if back camera will work that way until I get new front.

I did the same thing. Ordered new front camera, replaced it, and the front camera still doesn't work. Did you ever fix it and how? thanks

I've actually found one that solved mine. I found a YouTube video after hours of searching that said that Intl camera replacements didn't play well with us models. Went to ebay and purchased one that said us model replacement cam, ordered and installed and it fixed it. Hope this helps.
I have a similar issue, had my screen replaced and now cameras only work in maintenance mode.
