Screen compatibility between A2179 and A2337 models
I have 13” MacBook A2179 (Intel) with faulty screen. I think some tried a replacement and screw it up. I found a 13” MacBook Air model A2337 (M1 SoC) with faulty logic board bad USB-C charger fried the board now.
I want to swap screen is it possible? All the connector and the hinges are the same, can anyone help?
Thnx

Hello!, I bought 2 macbook air 2020 a year ago, the models are: A2179 with intel core i5 and 16gb of ram and a model a2337 M1 processor, 16gb of ram.... The M1 screen was damaged so I wanted to try putting the one from the A2179 model, my surprise is that all the connections are the same and I thought it would work, but when trying to turn on you only hear that the equipment turns on but it does not give me life on the screen that if it works for the a2179, I tried to do the same same with the one of the a2337 which broke a part and I wanted to see if half of it turned on in the a2179 and my surprise is that IT DOES NOT WORK, so my deduction is that EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE THE SAME CONNECTIONS they are not compatible.... So I just ordered one of the same model A2337 EMC. 3598 to test if with this new screen if it helps me to reach the real conclusion that even though they are the same size and have the same connections it seems that there is no compatibility between them

@Kas V - We’ve now learned Apple has serialize the display to the logic board as such you are being forced to use Apples parts as you need access to their calibration tool which is likewise linked to the displays S/N that Apple shipped to you. Basically closing down reuse of used parts!
