does not power up. changed power supply and changed bios battery. result is a blinking led1 on the motherboard. bios battery was at 2.87 volts. do not know how to test power supply. any clues?

How dusty was the system when you first opened it up? Did you check the GPU MXM board?
A common issue in this series is the GPU board fails and depending on how it fails it can short out causing your single diagnostic LED to blink.
Are you a hard user of the system? Running heavy graphics like large photo or video editing, video rendering or gaming? This system series can’t handle most of this.
