Recently my laptop keeps disconnecting from the wifi randomly while all the other devices in my house are perfectly fine and are recieving a solid signal. I suspect that the issue may be the airport card. Can anyone please suggest why this may be the case?

What is your WiFi Access Point (AP) setup? 802.11?? Are you using more than one WiFi AP?
Did you try deleting your systems WiFi cache?
