MacBook does not charge after battery replacement

I had a message on the macbook that my battery needed to be replaced, so I got all the parts.

Took the Macbook pro apart and installed the new battery. Now it seems that it is not working and I don't know what caused or causes the problem for it not to charge.

I have followed all steps and worked very carefully.

I will attach all the pictures I took during and after the instal in the hopes that someone notices whats wrong and can help me :)

I can’t seem to manage to get the MacBook to get power. MBP keeps giving me the last picture.

It looks like in your 2nd to last picture, the little latch holding the battery data cable in is missing. This could be this issue. This cable carries all the sensor and charge data from the battery to the board. So if the cable isn't making good electrical contact here, any of the checks the battery makes to know if the system is present, or the system makes regarding how much battery life remains are not getting transmitted. Usually this latch isn't vital? Though definitely recommended. A loose connection here could certainly be the cause.

Oh I am sorry, the little latch broke off or disconnected. I don't think its broken because I have put it on afterwards like it was originaly. But still the problem persists. As you said this is not vital, so maybe it is something else?

@koens Oh, no worries, those come off pretty easily, I have done it more than once myself. I'm glad you got it back on again. I'm not seeing anything else that's obvious that would cause this, I would try reseating that specific connection though, and make sure the cable doesn't have any damage.

Okay I will check on it after work! But what can I do if it seems like the cable has any damage?

из

@koens That's the tricky bit. Because I believe in this model the cable is soldered onto the battery management board. I haven't ever actually checked the logistics of this because I never needed to, but it definitely is not intended to be independently replaceable. So you would either need to do some soldering repair work on the cable itself if it was torn, or solder a new cable onto the board if you could find a replacement cable.

I will post a new picture tomorrow morning, if we cant figure it out by then. I will just bring it to a apple store and get it fixed. Hope it wont cost me another macbook pro :D
