Why is my iRobot always saying to put the bin back in the station?

I already send my iRobot roomba 7+ back to iRoomba for reparations 2 times. But the problem is still not fixed. I always get the fault code “put the bin back in de roomba. I think it is a connection problem, because I already bought 2 other bins. And I keep getting the fault code . My roomba is not working. I cleaned it a thousands time. And the bin is in the roomba (the round think). I don’t get it. Sending it back to roomba don’t seem as an option as they did not fix it. And now my guaranty is finished. Thanks for the info or letting me know what I can do or where I can go to fix it. I live in Belgium.

Kind regards

If you haven't yet: you can try to reboot: press and hold the 'CLEAN' button for 20 seconds, release the button, the light ring should show a white clockwise trail while it reboots. I m trying to find more information on the device.

Okay, I've scoured the web and learned a lot about these things. The most likely issues are:

  1. The sensors that detect the bin are dirty. If it is telling you the bin isn't in the device when it is, these sensors are probably just dirty, they are behind tiny windows near the floor. Locate and clean them.
  2. It seems that. Some replacement bins sold by 3rd parties don't get detected properly ; if the bins you bought didn't come from Roomba or an approved supplier that may be an issue.
  3. If a restart didn’t fix the bin error, consider a factory reset, this will wipe all custom settings;  floor layouts it's learned and cleaning schedules. You will have to set up everything again.

    To hard reset your device:

    • Go to the Settings > Factory Reset in the iRobot Home app.

    • Confirm the prompt to start the factory reset.

    • The Roomba will start its factory reset procedure after you accept the prompt, so let it finish the reset.

After the Roomba completes its reset process, run it through its cleaning schedules and see if it runs into a bin error again. Let me know if the problem persists and I'll look for more possibilities. Good luck
