Disk drive wont read CD's and DVD's

Upon insertion of a disc, there is no activity in the drive.

Within 30seconds the disc will be automatically ejected.

Would i need to clean my disc, or replace the whole thing?

I would try cleaning the drive first. Less expensive and a whole lot less hassle. If you find you must replace the drive here is the guide on how to do it. Ralph

HOW do i clean the drive.. there is nothing on this site that explainss how i get into that area..

The best way I know of is to use a cd cleaning kit. You can get them at most Radio Shacks. Ralph
