1 How to fix red screen
None of these answers worke for me. Is it possible the hard drive that doesnt work?
Would a change of the harddrive, get it to work, what do you think?
My little son still likes to play the games on this old Playstation.

It is most likely a software-related issue(https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/RSOD_Fix), someone has already reported the problem here(RSOD after Firmware Update). The procedure may be a bit complicated for non-advanced users, nevertheless there are some workarounds for both modded and non-modded consoles(https://www.psx-place.com/threads/modifi..., http://www.logic-sunrise.com/forums/topi..., website is in French).
First, locate your console model (written on the back) and report whether you installed a custom firmware or were stuck with the official version and which one, if you remember. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeble than me on the subject can guide you through the detailed procedure.
