No light on charger, no battery available, powers on

Hello,

I am working on a 2014 MacBook Air and I have a situation where:

No lights are coming on charger
Hold power, starts up, chimes, shows apple logo and powers off
Disconnect battery, hold power button, fan comes on full speed and laptop boots up.
Re-connect battery while on, indicates 'no battery available'.
Reset SMC, no change.

I am thinking the I/O board is bad and/or battery but shouldn't the light on the charger come on regardless of the battery status? Any help here would be appreciated.

How does the logic-board look

Keep an eye out for any corrosion/damage and also have you tried a new battery?

I was looking for corrosion but couldn't find anything. I am going to try a new battery to see if that resolves the issue. Thank you!

This could very well be a battery issue. It’s unusual that there’s no light on the charger, but the first thing I would try is a new battery. Fans coming on at max speed is normal when the battery is disconnected due to lack of communication from battery sensors to the SMC.
