My laptop wont turn on I dont have any light on charcher port charg ok

Hi,

If there no indication on the laptop that it is charging when the charger is connected there may be a problem with the DC-In charge port jack/cable (Lenovo part # 5C10N00259)

First, use a magnifying glass and a strong light and visually inspect the DC-In charge port jack to make sure that all the pins are there and that they're straight and parallel with each other and that they're not bent or missing. Also check that there's no lint or debris lodged inthe port enclosure that may be preventing a good electrical connection between the charger plug and the jack. If there is do not try to remove it with a metal pin or probe. Try using a vacuum cleaner or canned air.

If the charge port seems to be OK here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.46 to view the steps to remove the DC-In jack cable.

Initially all you have to do is to disconnect the cable from the motherboard and then use an Ohmmeter to test the DC-In jack socket for continuity on both the +ve (red) and -ve (black) connections from the input side of the jack (where you plug the charger into) to the cable plug connection at the end of the cable. There may be a broken connection in the socket.

If the jack/cable is faulty search online using the part number shown above to find suppliers that suit you best.

If the jack/cable is electrically OK from input to output, then there's a problem on the motherboard.
