Why do I have a partial screen after updating to ventura?

after updating i turned on my macbook to find a partial screen. the left side only goes as far as the "view" button at the top. please help

Ouch! This is not good. It sounds like your display will need replacing. To be sure connect an external display to check.

@runswithwolves1 You'll need an adapter that connects either an HDMI cable or a VGA cable to one of your Thunderbolt ports. This page from Apple shows you what's available from them; I'm sure there are a lot of aftermarket adapters out there as well.
