Why is my screen flickering like this?

For the past few days my screen has started to do this weird flickering, at first it only happened for around 2-3 seconds once every few hours but now its progressed to the point where it's basically constantly like this. I tried reinstalling mac-os, doing a diagnosis, drive repair ect hoping it was some driver or software issue but with no success. My only guess is that either the screen is genuinely damaged or possibly the display cables are damaged, when the flickering happens its as if there is some burn in from my desktop icons but if i press on the screen there is no change which lead me to believe it might possibly be a software/display cable issue. I've attached some images below.

Not good 😩!

It looks like the display assembly got damaged within the bottom right as you have two bands one vertical and a second horizontally. The cables involved here are not replaceable on there own.

If you have AppleCare+ the screen would be covered. Otherwise it would be iffy for Apple to do under warranty but it’s worth a try.

Apple just released the Self Repair info for your system Self Service Repair. I would review both the cost and the steps required.
