Is there a way to force power on a ps2 slim without the power button?

I was wondering if I could force power on the ps2 without the use of the power button, I'm trying to do this cause the light on my ps2 turns green for a second and then turns red again, all of the cables seem to be working. Also, I replaced one of the switches to check if the lid was closed with a solder blob and it was working but I think I might have fried something while soldering it. does anyone know if there's a way to force power it on or fix the slightly burnt mother board.

@octopie the concern that I have, is that you want to apply power to a "slightly burnt motherboard." That may turn into a permanently major burnt motherboard. The damage to the board maybe what prevents your power from staying on. If anything, you would want to inject power to the rails to determine was has failed. It's not the power button that turns it off, its your board that prevents it from staying on.

that is a worry I have. I'm wondering if there would be a way to fix the burn without having to get a new motherboard I cleaned it with isopropyl and it worked when I first turned it on after doing the solder blob for about 10 seconds but then it powered down again and hasn't come on since.

@octopie remove the solder blob. You maybe closing a circuit that does not like/need to be closed. Blobs, jumpers etc. are never a really good idea.

okay, I'm not entirely sure what to do though, because I removed the plastic switch that was there and closed the circuit when the lid was closed with the blob I have it so it closed all the time I don't think this would be the cause of anything because it's only touching the 4 connectors for that switch. Also, I tested if it was getting power and power passes through it so I dunno if that's the problem but I guess I'll remove it anyway cause i don't really know what I'm doing with this one.
