Info needed on keyboard backlighting

My PowerBook G4 didn't come with the option of a backlit keyboard, but from doing research, if i purchase the light sensors, and seeing where all the wires go, do i need to purchase a new keyboard too? I know one of the sensors plugs into the keyboard, and i have that plug on my keyboard. So will the keyboard on mine still light up?

My PowerBook is the A1095.

PPC G4 1.33 GHz Late 2004 model 15 Inch.

Mine isn't the later 2005 model. Mine still takes the DDR 2700 ram vs the newer DDR2 ram.

this is the specs from the system profile...

Actually there are two other components that are needed. In addition to the keyboard the upper case is different. The upper case has the fiber-optic ribbons which allow the keyboard to be backlit.
