My camera says error code: 02400001 and won't work properly how can I fix it I'm tech savvy and I can fix it if I just knew exactly what to do.

Try starting the phone in safe mode and check if the camera works OK.
If it does then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one is the culprit. A downloaded app is one that you downloaded and installed on the phone, not one that was installed already when you first got it.
If no good try reflashing the firmware using Moto's rescue and smart assistant tool and check.
If still no good it's a hardware problem.
