I replaced the battery of my mid 2009 MacBook and the hard drive with a new Solid State Drive. The MacBook, however, would show a folder with a question mark. I haven't replaced the ram but when I did, it wouldn't displace anything. The battery isn't faulty because I have inspected it. This is a serious problem.

Hi
When you see a question mark that means that the mac doesnβt know what to boot from(it also does this if there ISNβT anything to boot from)
If you havenβt reinstalled macOS you will need to do that to fix your issue

If you already have macOS installed I suggest you reseat the cable going to the SSD:-)

Was the system ever patched? If so see my thread "Cannot access boot utilities - greyed out EFI Boot - SOLVED!" hopefully that helps someone!
