My son dropped his switch down a few stairs (carpeted) and now it won't turn on at all. No activity or fan noice, and the screen appears intact. I'm just baffled what would cause it to brick like that.

@epalmer94107 could really be anything. Check the cable connectors etc. after that it's time to disassemble it and to see what looks "odd" Use these guides Nintendo Switch Repair to work on it and you can always post images of anything "odd" with your Question
